What Are The Effects Of Climate Change?
Objective
At the end of this section the students will be able to describe the effects that climate change is having and will have on Earth.
Task #1- Climate Change Impacts Backgrounder
Now that students understand what climate change is and the mechanisms that cause it they will read the Backgrounder on the impacts of Climate Change and take notes using the guided Notes Sheet.
Task #2- June 2008 Report
The students will read the June 2008 Report from the U.S. Global Change Research Program that summarizes the climate changes that are occurring in the United States. After the students read through the report they will complete the accompanying Worksheet.
Task #3- Live Mojo Effects of Climate Change Video
Students will watch the Live Mojo video below. It is approximately 3 min long and summarizes the effects of climate change with nice visualizations. It also gives some ideas about what can be done to solve the problem (which bring us to our next section).
